A free discovery meeting
We spend 30 minutes talking about your pregnancy, your expectations and your questions. No commitment: it's a chance to see whether we click and to get to know the doula who suits you.
We build your path together
Depending on your needs, we choose the option that works for you: à la carte prenatal classes, the full preparation, attendance at the birth, or complete support. Services covered by naturopathy insurance receipts.
Preparation at your own pace
Your doula comes to your home, anywhere on the island of Montreal and across the greater region. Personalized classes, pain management techniques, birth plan: we prepare everything you'll need on the big day, with full confidence.
The big day and after the birth
Attendance at the birth at home, in a clinic or in hospital. Then in-home postnatal follow-up to support you through the first few days: breastfeeding, help around the house, listening and comfort. You're never alone.

What is a doula and what does she do
A doula is a professional trained to support parents-to-be throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
Her role is to offer emotional, physical and informational support, while respecting your choices and needs.
My philosophy: to support every kind of birth, epidural no epidural — these are your choices, and I'll follow you whatever happens.
What's the difference between a doula and a midwife?
The midwife is a health professional: she provides medical follow-up during your pregnancy and delivers your baby. The doula performs no medical acts. She rounds out the team by offering a continuous presence and human support — something staff hospital doesn't always have time to provide.
In fact, the two work very well together.
Why hire a doula for your birth?
Because giving birth takes preparation, and it goes better that way supported. Continuous presence during labour is associated with shorter births, fewer interventions and a more positive experience for parents.
And I see it at every birth I attend: the partner also finds their place more easily on the day when a doula is there.
How much does a doula cost in Montreal?
In Montreal, full birth support usually costs between $800 and $2,000, depending on the doula's experience and the services included.
At Ysé Naissance, every package is presented during a free introductory meeting, to build support that genuinely matches your needs and your budget.
Are doula services reimbursed in Quebec?
The RAMQ does not cover doula services. However, most private insurance plans do cover, when the doula is also a certified naturopath, as is the case at Ysé Naissance.
Check for « naturopathy » coverage in your group or individual plan; most Quebec insurers include it.
Can a doula support me in hospital or at a birth centre?
Yes, and it's actually the most common scenario: most of the families I support give birth in hospital. Your doula adapts to your place of birth: hospital, birth centre or at home, and works with the medical team on site.
When during pregnancy should you contact a doula?
I recommend starting between the 20th and 32nd week: you have time to build a bond and take in the preparation before the big day. That said, it's never too late. We adapt the content to how far along you are, even a few weeks before your due date.
What is a postpartum doula?
She's a companion who supports you after the birth: postnatal home support at home, breastfeeding support, listening, practical help while you recover. Some also offer overnight support so you can sleep. Those first weeks are demanding, and you don't have to get through them on your own.
How do you choose your doula in Montreal?
The number one criterion is how it feels. You're going to go through intense moments with this person: you need to feel confident with her.
