Prenatal classes in Montreal

Prepare at home, in your cocoon

Accompany you towards birth

Our private prenatal classes in Montreal are aimed at all people who want preparation for human birth, tailor-made and adapted to their situation, without dogma, without judgment, at their own pace.

🌱 To future parents of a first baby. To discover the main stages and arrive on the big day with confidence, without embarrassment to ask all your questions.

🔄 To parents in second pregnancy. After a difficult first birth, a VBAC, or simply to prepare in a different way for an already expected birth.

🏡 For couples with a busy schedule. Your classes come to you, whenever it suits you, evening, weekend, daytime. No group constraints.

💫 To families far from their loved ones. Newly arrived in Montreal or far from family, you need an expert and reassuring presence at your side.

🌸 To those who are dreading childbirth. Anxiety, fear of pain, bad past experience, a private space to be listened to and equipped.

👶 To situations that require tailor-made. Risky pregnancy, twins, LGBTQ+ families, single parents — each support adapts to your reality.

A word from our founder

Perinatal care has always been my passion. It was through my own experience of motherhood that I discovered how much difference good support makes, and I trained with the right partners.

A mom of two little girls, I chose this work to help couples step into parenthood in the best way possible.

Today, Ysé Naissance has 300+ families supported and a group of 5 passionate doulas.

Choose a doula near you

When preparing for the arrival of a baby, proximity changes everything. Your appointments are made at home, without transport or logistics, and your doula already knows your neighborhood, your hospitals, your local resources.

  • No travel during your pregnancy: your doula comes to you, wherever you are in Montreal
  • A doula who knows your hospital or your birth center (Sainte-Justine, LaSalle, Sacré-Cœur, CDN birth center...)
  • Responsiveness on the big day — your doula is nearby and can reach you quickly
  • A lasting human connection, with someone from your area, for postnatal follow-up too

FAQ: Everything about prenatal classes in Montreal

Several options are available to you: information sessions for some CLSC, neighborhood community organizations, private home lessons like those at Ysé Naissance, and online training. Each formula has its place; the important thing is to choose the one that corresponds to your birth plan and the level of preparation you are looking for.

Throughout the island: Rosemont, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Verdun, Villeray, Hochelaga, Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges, NDG, Mile-End, Griffintown, Saint-Henri, Ahuntsic, Pointe-aux-Trembles... Your doula comes to your home with all the equipment, no matter your part of town. Is your neighborhood not listed? Write to us, it’s a safe bet that we’re covering it too.

Our preparation workshops for birth as a couple take place at Ostéo+, at 4247 rue Saint-André, in the heart of the Plateau, easily accessible by metro or car. A semi-private, user-friendly and practical format, ideal for the 3rd trimester.

Yes. We travel throughout the greater Montreal area: Laval, Longueuil, Brossard, Boucherville, Terrebonne, Blainville, Sainte-Thérèse, Saint-Eustache, Pointe-Claire, Dorval, Châteauguay... And for families further away, our Happy Push online program! is accessible everywhere in Quebec.

Yes, this is one of the great advantages of the private format: the schedules adjust to your schedule, not the other way around. Do you both work weekdays? We plan evening or weekend sessions, directly at your home.

I advise you to book from your 2nd trimester. Our doulas support a limited number of families each month, especially for packages with attendance at the birth, where we block a period of care around your scheduled date. The earlier you book, the more choice you have in schedules.

Absolutely, and it’s even a must-have in the course. Giving birth at the CHUM, Sainte-Justine, Jewish, LaSalle or in a birthing center is not the same experience: protocols, equipment and approaches vary. Consult our up-to-date lists of hospitals where to give birth in Montreal and birth centres : we adapt the preparation to your place of birth.

No, they complete it. Prenatal yoga and aquafitness do the body a world of good during pregnancy, but they don't prepare you for the flow of labor, medical procedures or managing contractions on the big day. Ideal? Combine one gentle physical activity and real preparation for birth.

It’s even one of the situations where support takes on its full meaning. Many of the families I support have arrived from France, elsewhere in Canada or elsewhere in the world, without reference points in the quebec health system and without loved ones around. The private lesson allows you to understand how things are going here, and to have someone you trust by your side.

Yes! Our private lessons can be given in English or in a bilingual format, practical for couples where one of the two partners is English-speaking. The content remains exactly the same: comprehensive preparation, pain management techniques and adaptation to your place of birth. Simply specify your preferred language when free discovery call.

Yes. Your medical monitoring and your preparation for birth are two independent things. Whether you are followed at the CLSC, in a GMF clinic, in the hospital or in a birthing center, in Montreal or the surrounding area, our courses are added to your follow-up without interfering with it. We work in addition to the medical team, never in their place.
